After an extensive search, The Center for Hearing and Speech—a United Way of Greater Houston agency offering resources for pediatric hearing loss—announced that Kyle Swift has been selected as the nonprofit’s new Chief Executive Officer. Swift assumes the role on July 1, 2019. The Center for Hearing and Speech serves children with hearing loss in Texas and has recently been admitted as the 60th member of the Texas Medical Center.

“I am honored to have been selected by the Board and am looking forward to joining the team at The Center for Hearing and Speech soon,” said Swift. “During the interview process, I was extremely impressed with the level of passion and expertise of the staff. There is a long history of demonstrated excellence in providing comprehensive resources to children with hearing loss in the region. I am looking forward to working with the Board and staff to build on that success. It is truly an exciting time to be joining the organization.”
Swift succeeds Renée Davis who is retiring after 13 years as Executive Director. Davis now serves as the Senior Executive Advisor for the Center and leads the current Capital Campaign to build a new state-of-the art facility that is projected to open early Fall 2020 in the Texas Medical Center (TMC).

Smith, Chairman of the Board at the Center. “The Board and I are thrilled Kyle Swift will lead the Center into the future where the vision is to double the number of children we serve in Houston and beyond helping them to reach their full potential. Kyle is a proven leader and brings the requisite skills to take us through the upcoming expansion and to further facilitate the collaboration recently announced with Texas Children’s.”
Swift has served as the Chief Executive Officer at Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin, Texas since 2015. Prior to this role, he served as CEO at the Medical Center of South Arkansas, in El Dorado, Arkansas and has spent more than 13 years in hospital administration. Kyle received his Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Texas A&M University. He has served on a variety of community boards including most recently, the Angelina County Chamber of Commerce and the Angelina County A&M Club.
