Highlights of the EUHA Program

Knowledge Symposium

The EUHA Knowledge Symposium will be held on the opening day, with Professor Torsten Dau, a renowned researcher in the field of auditory perception from the Technical University of Denmark, presenting a lecture on emerging trends in technical compensation strategies for hearing aids.

This will be followed by the EUHA Sponsorship Award ceremony and the FDHA Award ceremony. Admission to this special programme is free of charge for all Congress delegates.

Expert lectures

Expert lectures will address important innovations from the fields of research and science, public health policy and the future, marketing and communication, and practical application. In total, more than 30 experts from Germany and abroad will present relevant knowledge from hearing aid acoustics, medicine, and research. Every day, an expert lecture by scientists from Denmark will also be on the agenda.

Later, Professor Tobias Neher, a well-known researcher from the University of Southern Denmark in Odense, will open the lecture program with a presentation on detecting and preventing rollover at above-conversational speech levels.

On the final day, Sergi Rotger-Griful, PhD, will give one of the Future Friday Keynotes.

Tutorials

The tutorials will focus on the practical application of knowledge learned. They can be booked in the ticket shop. Topics on October 17 of the conference include CI, hyperacusis, and misophonia, as well as customer advice and leadership skills. The tutorial on listening effort has been scheduled for Friday.

Future Friday

Four keynotes on important forward-looking topics in hearing aid acoustics will be offered during the conference’s final day. These lectures are free of charge for all conference delegates.

Retail futurologist, Theresa Schleicher, will speak about the future of retail and consumers. Later, David Matusiewicz, PhD,  digital health expert, professor of medical management at the FOM University as well as founder and CEO of the DXM Group, will give a talk on digital transformation in healthcare. Bernd Höing, PhD, from Essen University Hospital, will provide insights into AI in hearing aid research, asking “Who benefits from a cochlear implant?” And, finally, Sergi Rotger-Griful, PhD, from the Eriksholm Research Centre in Snekkersten, Denmark, will be talking about the importance of understanding communication challenges in people with hearing loss.
