Hansaton USA has added the AQ Slim BTE to its rechargeable line of hearing aids. The new hearing instrument offers a slim design, digital processing, and a recharging system with an operating time of 20 hours per charge and a 5-year battery life guarantee.
The AQ Slim uses Hansaton’s patented charging process that takes 4 to 6 hours and is designed to prevent overcharging the battery, preserving battery longevity. In addition, Hansaton’s charge station, pictured, uses an inductive charging system that eliminates electrical contacts, which can corrode and wear out. The sealed battery compartment also reduces moisture ingress and increases the hearing aid’s reliability by eliminating any chance of a user inserting the wrong battery.
In a nod to environmental concerns, Robert Eastman, president of Hansaton, said that the AQ’s battery technology was engineered to eliminate environmentally harmful elements contained in conventional batteries. He also noted in the press announcement that the company will plant a tree for every AQ hearing aid purchased.
The AQ Slim will be available in the United States beginning October 1, 2012.
