Hearing Tracker—an online review system for hearing aids and hearing providers—has launched what it calls a “hyper-local online service” to help connect US consumers with low-cost, local hearing aid fittings, according to a posting on the Hearing Tracker website by David Copithorne.
According to Hearing Tracker, the new service will allow audiologists and hearing aid dispensers to offer standardized, discount hearing aid bundles directly to customers within a localized area.
“One of the biggest challenges facing people with hearing loss is insufficient information about local products, services, and pricing,” Hearing Tracker founder Abram Bailey, AuD, was quoted as saying in the article. “Consumers want to know what products and services they are paying for, and how much it’s going to cost—and, up until now, this information has not been readily available.”
Consumers can visit the Local Hearing Aid Deals website, and filter their search to a particular location, hearing device brand, business, and level of expertise for a hearing care provider.

Hearing Tracker is made up anonymous posters, of which most are Phonak hearing aid dealers. Furthermore there are so many multi-posters the website is useless. It’s the same four – five people posting the same stuff over and over. Furthermore the owner of Hearing Tracker screens posts and if he doesn’t like a certain one he deletes it. So Abram Bailey has best of both worlds. His multi-posters (of which he also is) who dominate the board and then Abram god like role to review posts and take out the ones he doesn’t like. Hearing tracker is thus a “scam” website that really only benefits Abram and his few (multi-poster) followers.
I’m sorry I don’t agree with you. I’ve known Dr Bailey for many years, and I think he tries to play a fairly even hand–mostly because that’s what is (and should be) in the best long-term interests for his website.
