About 160 private practice professionals attended the 2019 AudBoss Summit, said to be one of the field’s largest learning events dedicated solely to private practice audiologist owners/managers, on October 2-5 at the Hilton Naples in Naples, Fla.
Hosted by Amit Gosalia, AuD, and April Royan, MA, the Summit focused on private practice, with topics that included physician marketing, social media, tinnitus implementation, audiology assistants, protection from employee fraud, selling your practice, a business growth panel, and more. Keynotes were presented by Dr Gosalia and Royan, and sessions were led by experts including American Tinnitus Association (ATA) Executive Director Torryn Brazell, Oticon Director of Academic Sciences Douglas Beck, AuD, Sycle CEO Ridge Sampson, Alpaca VP of Sales Joseph Alden, Starkey Senior Director of Sales Kyle Acker, AuD, and vlogger Clifford “Dr Cliff” Olson, AuD. Other featured speakers included private-practice owner/AuDs Drs Natalie Phillips, Nichole Kingham, Phallon Doss, Judy Huch, Jason Leyendecker, Jessie Dimmick, and Jana Emola-Austin.
Sponsored in part by Starkey Hearing Technologies, Alpaca Audiology, Lantos Technologies, Sycle, and Oaktree Products, the event reportedly sold out within 2 weeks of its launch announcement in March 2019. The Summit was jam-packed over 2 days with no breaks except for lunch, says Dr Gosalia.
Attendees also had the opportunity to network and enjoyed themselves on an evening yacht party Thursday night and a private party at The French in downtown Naples.
AudBoss 2020 is now being planned and details will be announced soon.
