Lou Ferrigno, popularly known as The Incredible Hulk (a trademark of Marvel Characters, Inc), will open CI2022 DC: Emerging Issues in Cochlear Implantation (CI). The conference will be held in Washington, DC, on May 18-21, 2022 at the Renaissance Washington Hotel. The Opening Session with Lou Ferrigno is scheduled for 8:40 AM on Thursday, May 19.
Ferrigno is an American actor, fitness trainer, and inspiration to several generations of film and TV fans. He has spoken previously about his hearing loss from childhood and how it affected him personally and professionally. In February 2021, he received a cochlear implant (CI).
In July 2021, Lou spoke with ACI Alliance Executive Director Donna Sorkin about his experience since receiving a CI (video above), sharing his perspectives about overcoming challenges throughout his life. During the Opening Session they will continue that conversation, discussing what has changed in Lou’s life in the year since he got his CI.
