Washington, DC — In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15 – October 15, the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), one of the Institutes that comprise the National Institutes of Health (NIH), has announced the launch of a new Spanish-language section of its popular website for parents of 8- to 12-year-olds.
It’s a Noisy Planet. Protect Their Hearing has already been published in English. The new section includes publications to teach parents about hearing loss from overexposure to loud noise, why children and teens are at risk, and how parents can help their children build healthy hearing habits.
Now, the NIDCD is offering additional health information resources in Spanish on its main website. Topics include hearing aids, cochlear implants, stuttering, communication problems in people with autism, and smell and taste disorders.
For the full array of publications in Spanish, visit this Web site.
