In an article on the EdTech Magazine website, a hearing-impaired professor writes about the benefits of remote learning for faculty who have hearing difficulties.
Jonathan Moore argues that he actually hears better on videoconference than a traditional classroom setting because his students are sitting close to the microphone; in class, his students sometimes speak low or are seated too far away for him to hear clearly.
Moore said his college, Vanguard University of California, has been an excellent resource in getting him up and running with the technology required to teach remotely.
