In accordance with City of Chicago guidance, Sensaphonics announced it has reopened its Chicago headquarters. After nearly three months of required closure, all facilities are back in operation, including the Musicians Hearing Clinic and the adjoining manufacturing lab. All Sensaphonics operations are being conducted under the social distancing guidelines suggested by the CDC and City of Chicago.
In its announcement, the company noted that it has issued a simple set of rules for its staff and visitors, designed to protect employees and clients by minimizing any possible virus exposure. For the Musician Hearing Clinic, only one client will be permitted in the building at a time. All visits are by appointment only, and all guests must pass a temperature scan before being admitted. Visitors must bring and wear their own facemask, and the use of gloves is encouraged, though not required.
Sensaphonics staff will wear facemasks, and will be positioned a minimum of six feet apart within the offices and lab. Staff audiologist Dr Laura Sinnott, AuD, will wear full PPE (face shield, mask, and gloves) during clinic appointments, and will disinfect all equipment after each client visit, as Sensaphonics has always done.
Dr Michael Santucci, AuD, Sensaphonics President, said, “As we all prepare to return to a more normal and hopefully more health-conscious existence, I want to assure everyone that Sensaphonics will provide a safe, welcoming environment along with our unique in-ear products and hearing wellness expertise. We look forward to seeing our friends and customers again!”
In addition to following guidelines and best practices as established by the City of Chicago and the CDC, Sensaphonics will be adhering to operational guidelines from the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and National Hearing Conservation Association (NHCA).
Sensaphonics is located at 660 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, and is open from 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. For an appointment, call 321-432-1714.
