Sonova Holding AG, Stäfa, Switzerland, reports that it has successfully completed the previously announced acquisition of Comfort Audio i Halmstad AB, Halmstad, Sweden, following regulatory approvals (June 16, 2014 Hearing Review online). Comfort Audio specializes in the development, manufacturing, and distribution of innovative assistive listening devices (ALDs) and, according to Sonova, complements the group’s broad wireless and non-wireless product and solution offering.
With a staff of about 90 people, Comfort Audio generated sales of $19.9 million (SEK 143 million) in calendar year 2013. According to Sonova, the company has an attractive solutions and technology offering aimed at assisting people with hearing loss in challenging listening situation such as in larger work group sessions or in schools. Together with its strong distribution network, particularly in Scandinavia, Comfort Audio broadens Sonova’s offering of hearing solutions and market reach.
