Starkey announced that its Genesis AI hearing aids have launched in Australia and New Zealand, which the company celebrated at a launch event in Sydney, Australia.
The Genesis AI features an advanced processor, a long-lasting rechargeable battery (51 hours from a single charge), one of the smallest rechargeable RICs with sensor, a wide dynamic range, the industry’s smallest new 2.4 GHz CIC, according to Starkey, and more.
Genesis AI’s all-new Starkey Neuro Processor is packed with six times the transistors and four times the speed, Starkey says. The Neuro Processor was created to mimic the function of the central auditory system through an all-new compression system and an on-chip Deep Neural Network (DNN) accelerator.
“With Genesis AI, we have greatly expanded the capabilities of hearing aids beyond traditional expectations. It is the largest leap forward ever in hearing technology, transforming hearing aids from single function listening enhancement devices into discreet, multipurpose health and communication tools,” says Starkey President and CEO Brandon Sawalich. “The new technology is already changing lives in the U.S., Canada, and Europe, and we are excited to launch in Australia at the Sydney Opera House.”
Sawalich and CTO Achin Bhowmik, PhD, along with other members of the Starkey executive team, attended the Australia launch event in Sydney to celebrate this launch.
“We are excited to introduce Genesis AI to patients and hearing care professional in Australia and New Zealand,” says Dawn Rollings, Starkey’s Managing Director of Australia and New Zealand. “Starkey has a rich history of pushing boundaries and breaking the limits with innovation. From the beginning, we have never wavered from providing exceptional service and are continuing to create groundbreaking technology while transforming the hearing aid.”
