As hearing care becomes an increasingly critical aspect of our physical and mental well-being, hearing health providers are discovering innovative ways to tackle some of the most pressing challenges that traditional hearing care solutions are unable to address. One of these challenges is the fact that while hearing aids can enhance volume, they sometimes do not amplify things like tone or inflection, which means that users are, at times, unable to understand the emotional nuances of their conversations.
Unitron, a hearing solution provider, is launching a platform that boosts these subtle nuances in speech to help patients “better understand words and emotions in complex listening situations.” Called Discover Next, this technology “helps those with hearing issues move beyond the words and truly engage in conversations with those that matter most,” according to the company’s announcement.
Unitron will be hosting an event on March 12 at the Centre in the Square in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, from 10:00-11:30 am to showcase this new technology. The event will feature a list of speakers who will provide analysis on the importance of communicating emotions and the implications for those with hearing loss, as well as the newest innovations in hearing solutions.
