Though CART stenographers are often present at public speeches, according to the article, they aren’t always available in classroom settings unless specifically requested.
Companies like Verbit, “a tech-based CART administrator that largely partners with education institutions like Stanford University and the University of Utah, to ensure accessibility in classroom environments,” can provide its transcription services remotely utilizing automatic speech recognition. Transcriptions are available for viewing after the lecture.
